Earls is a great restaurant. The first time, we had a moose burger & a donner pizza. They were great!So we decided to return to this restaurant after our 4-day hike & ordered a huge pizza :)Great again! I absolutely recommend this restaurant :)
I have been on the East coast for a week eating lots of delicious seafood, but Earles was THE BEST MEAL Ive had. Everything was hot and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Seafood Caesar salad, which was topped with scallops and a shrimp and loved every bite! (Also tasted were the chicken wings and mozzarella bacon burger and fries... all delicious!)They make a point on the menu to mention service might not be fast, but they promise it will be good (its all homemade). But we found service timing to be just fine.
This place is famous for it's moose dishes. From stew to burgers you are certain to find something to try (they even got moose pizza). We tried the Moose Pie, the Moose Soup, Moose Burger and the Moose Stew that all came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Moose meat is very unique in it's flavor and texture resembling bison in a lot of ways but slightly different. Very lean with a bit of a spicier after taste. We really enjoyed it. I particularly liked their burger the best after trying a few other places that don't quite do it as well as Earle's. Their stew is best for really tasting the flavor of the moose meat. Pie was not bad but a little heavy on the crust. Come hungry because their portions are huge. Really happy with the food and the service.
A better option than others in Rocky Harbour, not fine dinning but very good. Had the pan fried and the deep fried fish and chips on separate occasions, the pan fried takes it. Larger pieces of fish and tastier too. If moose pie is your thing, they have that too. You can get a good view of Gros Morne mountain, and sunsets . Good place to meet other travelers
Good place to try the moose dishes. We had the moose burger and the moose stew and they were both very good. The waiting time was a bit too much through (well over an hour) but it's to expect with the high popularity of this restaurant.
