Very nice, hefty portions. Lobster bisque was good, as was the seafood chowder. Server was very friendly. Small town diner.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and view in the evening if you can get one of the tables that offer it. The food on the other hand is all frozen and not worth the price, the restaurant is going for an upscale environment but the food doesn't come close to delivering.
Simple food, but delicious. This isnt gourmet dining, and it doesnt pretend to be. The portions were extremely generous, and prices were very reasonable. We had three appetizers at our table - the garden salad, the fish cakes, and the steamed mussels- and all were large enough to be a full dinner. The fish cakes were particularly good. The fish and chips entree was average, but the partridgeberry crumble was delicious. All of the dessert options looked tempting. The day we visited there was a very large group and they were short staffed, so they had to turn away a number of people. I recommend getting there early if you can.
If you're looking for a casual restaurant I'd highly recommend skipping this place and going to Fisherman's Landing. We popped in on Sunday night, not realizing until we started getting hard looks that they might be closing soon. An older waitress started snapping at the waitress who served us about us "not being ready". Then I actually asked about their closing time (their hours aren't listed, the online hours aren't accurate, and no one made mention that they were closing soon). We apologized, said we'd pop back another time, and headed out.My boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot today. Service was incredibly slow. Our coffees took 15 minutes. Our breakfast didn't arrive until well over 45 minutes after ordering (despite another table who ordered the same time getting theirs and finishing in the time it took us to even start). In passing our waitress said "We ran out of sausage but I believe they put something extra on the plate"- we realized after that they didn't and ripped us off.My family owned a restaurant. I understand that you can only control so much as a waitress so the slow food didn't bother me; however, the staff were so standoff-ish and avoidant. I'm very polite to servers so I don't understand the coldness. A quick update ("It'll be a while- apologies!") or check-in would have made a big difference. As soon as they figured we were just tourists, it's like they couldn't wait for us to leave. I definitely regret giving it a second go.
Phenomenal dinners and desserts. Fish dishes were supremely fresh and cooked to perfection. Desserts we're sumptuous.Local specialties offered for every mealImmensely friendly owner too!
